In January the Neighbourhood Development Plan Steering Committee completed their latest draft of the NDP document. This collated all the individually reviewed and proof-read sections into a single document.
The NDP document contains the evidence gathered from the community interactions at workshops, meetings, the May Fayre and through the questionnaire and presents it with resulting policies regarding the planning of future housing developments. Before it is ready to be submitted to West Berkshire for review it needs to be checked to ensure it complies with National and Local (i.e. District) housing policies and that it is written using the correct planning terms in order to maximise the chances of approval when it goes for review by the Inspector. To fund this we applied for a grant through an organisation called Locality and in their new funding year they were kind enough to agree to our request. Burghfield Parish Council have now contracted with a firm of planning consultants to provide this support. Following a delay due to the pandemic and a change of personnel at the consultants, the Steering Committee have now met with the lead consultant for the task and their review is underway.
